Calling all BIPOC students and emerging professionals, as well as established BIPOC and allied professionals in the fields of sexual health, therapy, and outreach! This year the Guelph Sexuality Conference is launching a BIPOC Mixer and Networking Dinner preceding our annual evening social event, both of which will take place at NV Lounge. Attendees will include conference plenary speakers, presenters, board members and others that are eager to network and build community with BIPOC students and emerging professionals. Space is very limited and dinner is included, thanks to a generous grant from University of Guelph’s, Office of Student Affairs. Attendees will also receive gift bags and assistance with local cab fare to and from NV lounge, if needed. Register for this event by sending an email to sexconf@OpenEd.uoguelph.ca  immediately after you complete your conference registration. What does BIPOC mean?BIPOC stands for black, indigenous, and people of colour. It’s important to acknowledge the diversity of identities within our community, creating a space by and for black, indigenous and people of colour, to have conversations and create connections, and  recognizing the need to support greater BIPOC opportunities in our fields

Childcare

As part of living the conference’s values, we are striving to address inequality and access by providing childcare. While our children are welcome to attend the conference, we recognize that, for some parents and caregivers, not having childcare options can be a barrier to participation.

Beginning this year, to help those of us who need childcare assistance in order to attend, we have a limited amount of financial assistance to help cover costs through the following options:

  1. Spots available for full day care on campus at The University of Guelph Child Care Centre
  2. Subsidies for parents and caregivers of young children to support child care at your home location

These options can be selecting during the registration process.  Our Open Learning and Educational Support, Sexuality Conference Program Manager will contact you.
